Seems like this team has died during the second half of the year. It's kinda sad, but I have no right to complain as I was one of those that disappeared during that time.
What are we going to do about next year? Will we keep the East Asian languages team? If so, is there anyone willing to lead it?

Re: Team East Asian Languages TAC 2016
I wouldn't actually mind participating in next year's TAC. I took this year off and didn't join any groups, but considering how much time I've spent on Japanese this year, I think I'd be making a mistake if I didn't go all in.
I don't think I'm necessarily the best fit for the position, but if no one else wants to take it upon themselves, I'd be willing to lead the group. My only real qualifications are that I've been around on HTLAL and LLORG for a while and I have at least some experience with a few Asian languages (mainly Japanese, but I also studied Mandarin while I lived in Taiwan and looked at Korean for fun).

It would be great if you'd want to lead it in 2017! I'm just wondering if there will be enough interest at all though... it doesn't seem like it so far.

I'd be interested in being part of the team if there's a team.

Re: Team East Asian Languages TAC 2016
In all fairness, I do get the feeling lately that Korean has become the dominant Asian language on this forum and that the Korean learners have all sort of coalesced around one another's logs (which, incidentally, I enjoy reading very much). They may not see the need for an official group that would bring in other languages for which they have little to no interest, though.
Anyway, I've created a poll to see how people might feel about a new group in 2017, so go check it out if you get the chance!

Re: Team East Asian Languages TAC 2016
I most likely won't be participating next year again seeing as my main focus will be German, but I will still be continuing with Japanese and will definitely be following everyone's progress throughout the year.
I hope to see people from this group who haven't posted in a while return as I enjoyed following everyone's progress and am curious to see how everyone went with their studies throughout the year.
