I'm halfway through a masters programme in teaching English with a specialism in computer-assisted language learning. I've just got a few weeks of classes left, and then I'm on to working on a materials design dissertation for the summer.
As part of that, I'm looking to pilot a web-based language teaching and research tool. The basic idea at this stage is that I want a system that can ask the types of questions you'd find in a Duolingo, RS, Transparent Language or whatever, but have the questions set up that they can be asked in different ways, so you can repeat an equivalent course with one or two differences. This is so that you can investigate the effects of changing one variable -- all too often, when you look at language research, the courses delivered to two groups are substantially different, so it's hard to tell what has really caused the improved results.
So I'll be trying to find pilot users who're willing to spend a few minutes a day learning the basics of a new language over the course of a few weeks, and I wondered if any of you guys might be interested.
Obviously no-one here is going to be suitable for an absolute beginners' English course, but I'm planning to try it out with several different languages (because that makes the results more generalisable) and I'm sure I'll be able to come up with one most of you haven't studied before.
Anyone interested in piloting a new website...?

I'd be glad to help; I can't do much until summer, so leave me out if you need to start stuff before June.

Sure, I'll give it a try, whatever language you throw at me. (Gaelic? Corsican? Catalan?)
