Re: German Book Club/ Tintenherz read-along
Hello, all! This poor thread has been sorely neglected, so I'll start off by apologising!
I am wondering, how many people are still reading, and where are you? Please do let me know. Don't worry if you've not gotten very far into the book, if you've finished the book or simply stopped reading.
For the record, I'm still reading at a pace of around 20-25 pages each week. I am on Chapter 24, Fenoglio.

I restarted in May so I could count the whole thing in the SC. So, I'm way behind. On chapter 15 I think.

I'm trying to read one chapter a week, unless it's too short, then I read two. I couldn't last week, so my next one is still Das falsche Ende, which is #25.

That means I've finally caught you up, Expug! I read Das falsche Ende yesterday, after posting.
Anyone else still reading?

Sadly not at the moment. I hardly have any time nowadays, because of my new job. I hope to be able to read on Monday evening or on Wednesday (my day off). Luckily I still have every day German practice during my work hours, so everything is fine. For sure I will finish the book before the end of the summer season. Just have to find time..

So I managed to read further back in the agreed pace. Next due chapter is #29 , Ein guter alter Platz zum Bleiben.

I was just wondering what chapter we're supposed to be on. I think I'm finally almost caught up. I'm about to start "Geweckt in schwarzer Nacht". Reading is starting to get almost easy now. Almost.

This should be chapter 46. I'm going to read chapter 47 next week.

Re: German Book Club/ Tintenherz read-along
It is good to know that I am almost exactly as behind as I thought I was. Well, it is at least better to know that than to know that I am even MORE behind than I thought I was!
By the way, I have a peeve with this book, and I am wondering if anyone else feels this irritation, too:
How does anyone understand each other? It might simply be my own misconstruction, but don't Meggie and Mo live in Germany? I can understand that Elinor might speak German, or Mo might speak Italian, but Meggie? I can even believe that German prevalence in Northern Italy helps things along, but later on in the book? Or is it simply that they are all Italian, and I just missed it?
