Babylon 5 (though for me the first year was mostly rather dull) and Deep Space Nine (unless we count that as a Star Trek series) might be suitable, too, if they're available.

I mean all the series with the Star Trek name, so TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9 and the newest Enterprise. Babylon 5 I re-watched only once, because the acting is just atrociously bad at times. Also superb for listening practice is Stargate. That's 22 Seasons in total with Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. And the variety of topics is immense, tons and tons of vocab is strengthened in this one! For some reason I tend to re-watch that in Spanish though ...! It's hilarious like that. Can't take it seriously in English either, but it becomes really comical in Spanish.

Has anyone tried to read in a TL and simultaneously listen to the audio in a native language (or a language which he undestands)?

I'm sure I've read about it a number of times here (or at HTLAL). I know that Arguelles argued against it some ten years ago. Listening to your L1 won't really improve your listening skills in your L2.

The original Star Trek is a perfect combination of ham and cheese. Delicious.
