Help identify this language

Postby yong321 » Sun Feb 05, 2017 3:38 am

Can anybody help me identify the language in the main part of this Web page?
http://www.mongolinternet.com/famous/GunjSuhbaatar.htm
Google Translate correctly identifies the first part as Mongolian. But the text below is not known. Thank you!

Example:
Gunjiin Suhbaatar Mongolyn ertnii tuuh sudlal Boti I, Hunnu naryn ahui, niigmiin baiguulal, soyol, ugsaa garval

The text in latin script appears to be Mongolian as well. There are parts here and there that match up exactly between the Cyrillic and latin parts. I am no expert and cannot speak Mongolian, but this is my best bet.

"Гүнжийн Сүхбаатар бол Монголын түүхийн нэрт эрдэмтэн мөн."
"Gunjiin Suhbaatar bol Mongolyn tuuhiin nert erdemten mun."

"Доктор Гүнжийн Сүхбаатар Хүннү нар Монголчуудийн өвөг дээдэс мөн болохыг баталж"
"doctor Gunjiin Suhbaatar Hunnu nar Mongolchuudiin uveg deedes mun bolohiig batalj"

"Тэрээр Монголын эртний түүхийн судалгаанд амь амьдралаа зориулсан нэн чамбай сайн эрдэмтэн байлаа."
"Tereer Mongolyn ertnii tuuhiin sudalgaand ami amidralaa zoriulsan nen chambai sain erdemten bailaa."

Thank you very much Sizen! That's what I suspected but wasn't sure. I didn't know somebody would seriously write Mongolian in Latin script (this is not chatting on a cell phone). Google Translate could have been improved to recognize it, because it can do so to Japanese written in Latin script instead of kana.
