Arnaud wrote:I subtitled Hélène for a friend of mine. There were only 11 episodes (the original idea was to make as many episodes as Extra French but I stalled before )and they have been deleted from YT for copyright infrigement at the beginning of this year. Nonetheless other people seem to have uploaded the episodes again.
If you're interested you can download the original transcripts and .srt files (episode 3 is lost) here.
Hey Arnaud, welcome back!

Can someone post the subtitles for the show Helene et le garçon again? The link is not working anymore. Thanks!

If you're just looking for subtitled French TV, rather than that one series in particular, you could try tv5mondeplus.com, in theory all their programmes are subtitled (it seems to be a little patchy though).luoxy0 wrote:Can someone post the subtitles for the show Helene et le garçon again? Arte France's in-house productions should have subtitles too, e.g. Invitation au voyage, le dessous des cartes

Even French titles would be helpful, but Part of the early dialogue of the first episode is translated into English here.
Look for the comment by Minniemoo. It's a start at least.

You could also always try the method a few members swear by. Just start watching. There are 100s of episodes and then three or four spin-offs to follow up with.

Thanks. I always like being reminded of this.

Re: French TV series like Friends with subs in French?
Sorry, I sarted typing my message without realizing it was a 4 years old thread.
Although I'll still post that in case it could be useful to someone.
Someone suggested Kaamelott. It is an amazing and hilarious TV show and it has an important cultural value here, although I wouldn't recommand it to learn languages except if you are almost fluent. A part of its comical value is caused by subtilities like a specific and peculiar choice of words and their connotations, the tone of voice and accents etc.
Maybe "Scènes de ménages" could be good? I remember people used to really enjoy it 10 years ago. It's short clips showing several couples in funny situations. And given it's short clips you could focus on translating some if you need to. I'd recommand watching the old episodes though, recent ones seem to be way less funny.

"Un gars, une fille" used to be even more appreciated, although it's short clips as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Un_gars,_une_fille_(French_TV_series) It is the series that made Jean Dujardin famous.
Fun fact: the sister of the lead female role in "Un gars, une fille" acts in "Scènes de Ménages"
