Mandarin first book advice

Postby mjfleck2000 » Tue Nov 08, 2016 2:14 pm

I would like some suggestions for graded readers for Mandarin.
My granddaughter, age 13, started studying Mandarin in middle school last year. She is now in her second year of Mandarin. She is at a basic level(probably around A1) but is very enthusiastic... loves her teacher... loves her classmates. She studies every day including weekends!

I would like to buy her a present of a graded reader in Mandarin.

Does anyone have recommendations?

Usually these are suggested for simplified characters;

http://www.chinesebreeze.net/

The books are available through Amazon.

Should probably mention these as well....search in Amazon on "Susan you mafan" and "Anna Mei Banfa!" by Terry T Waltz. There's a series of books by this author. Her works seem to be less well known.
