travel subforum

Postby Cavesa » Tue Sep 15, 2015 7:59 pm

I think we could do with one. For all those travelling tips, study exchange stay reports, moving abroad enquiries and so on. Am I wrong? Could we have one, please? Until we get one, where should I post my travelling questions? Or if we aren't gonna have one, where should I post them anyways?

I LOVE this idea! Travel is one of the primary reasons that I am learning foreign languages! Could we have one please?

I agree, great idea!
Rather than a general offtopic forum that some want, maybe it's better to have several ones for specific topics like travelling, science, IT, sports? This should make it easier to avoid controversial posts, although wait I forgot the conspiracy theories about science :?
IDK, just a raw idea obviously, mod hat completely off ;)

Yes, please!! I like the travel posts in users logs, but having an area for advice, questions and experiences would be great!

I can see a travel sub forum being much more relevant to a language learners forum. I know this topic was covered in a previous polygot conference and I found it very interesting and informative.

I like this idea. Maybe a culture sub-forum as well? We've got a lot of threads in the "General Language Discussions" sub-forum which are really about culture, not language directly. Eg: the music video thread, the video games thread, cultural ephemera thread, harry potter thread, countries game thread, memes thread...

Another vote for a travel forum. I am going to Russia for the first time very shortly, so it would be cool to have somewhere to ask questions and get advice. It's all intimately connected with language learning as I will be staying with a language school and taking an language exam there! I think a culture forum is a good idea too, although in my case I am most interested in the Russian politics and religion so it may not be that helpful for me personally  (Just to be clear, I do support the no religion and politics rule)
