If anyone is interested in doing this, I would very much like a feature where I can put a count down clock on the system which says something like: "This site will enter maintenance mode in XX minutes" and have it automatically count down. So basically I put in a time, for example 18:00 UTC and warning time of 15 minutes prior, and the system automatically displays the message and the countdown clock at the top and bottom of every page displayed. Starting at 15 minutes (or whatever I've set) and then automatically display a "Maintenance mode" page whenever anyone tries to access the site who doesn't have administration permissions.
This request is based on a plug-in I've used previously for wordpress which does exactly this.
