"The language learner's forum" is, in my opinion, the best and most idiomatic variant. I'm not sure exactly why "The" is used here, but it has the effect of sounding more authoritative and assertive, and therefore is the most used variant in self-branding.

This one sounds like slick marketing to me Maybe because a forum per se is nothing unique, whereas a guide to galaxy is

While the URL is still a tad too long for my liking, it is a marked improvement over the old one so I won't complain too much

As for which of the following is better "A language learners’ forum" or "A language learner's forum" or "The language learner's forum" - this is probably a bit too pedantic for my tastes Personally, I'm of the mind that "If we build it, they will come".

As for a longer forum name, I don't mind it theoretically but I think it shouldn't play off the titles or contents of some books or TV shows or movies, because then inevitably some people who haven't seen or read it will feel left out, and that's not a good way to attract potential new members.

Need a better maintenance warning system and I have discovered I can disable the board during maintenance to help avoid lost posts. I am hopeful that we will have more maintenance outages because it neans we are improving and expanding!

Hm, I've not read/watched it but I don't feel left out anyway Maybe because it's on my list and I've always liked the name.
