In this thread, I am going to present you my humble miserable attempts to improve my pronunciation in English.
I will record the video and show it to you.
I would be really glad to hear any constructive critical remarks.

Is the video not suitable?
I am asking because I have a very good webcam, but my separate mic of rather bad quality. That's why I use the webcam to record (the mic inside of the webcam is rather good)

First: a correction- I think your sentence would be better written like this: I just wanted somebody to listen to it and criticize my pronunciation. "Listen" and "criticize" should not be in the past tense here. You are describing what you wanted. We don't use the past tense for this in this context. I am not a linguist nor an English-teacher, so, I can't really give you a thorough grammatical explanation as to why.

Second: the video- You've asked for criticism here and I must be honest. As a native English-speaker, without the video showing the sentences, I would not have been able to understand most of what you were saying. Perhaps it may be because you are reading it and speaking a little too fast. I believe you would benefit from work on pronunciation. Shadowing is a good way to do this on your own. You would also benefit from a language exchange with a Russian-learner. There are several learners of Russian here on the forum. You should ask to see if any are interested.

Your writing is quite good but in order to speak you need to work on that as well. Pronunciation work/practice and shadowing will all help. If speaking is important to you, then you need to put emphasis on it as a skill. Reading is not going to help with this. I'm sorry if I seem to be harsh in my evaluation of your speaking. Your writing on the forum is generally very good with few mistakes. I don't like to criticize or correct and neither do many of our members, but I felt that it might be helpful for you. You can improve quickly but you'll have to work at it and make it a priority for a little while over reading if you want to get better.

As long as you are comfortable uploading there, it's fine. I go there often but I 've never uploaded anything. Regarding your pronunciation... It' s not a matter of speed. Your initial self-assessment was correct. Someone who's reading has additional leeway to pronounce words correctly. I had great difficulty understanding you. Your writing is way ahead of your pronunciation. Don't get discouraged. That plan of yours to read 555 books this year is however only good if every other book is an audiobook. I'd mix things up and also watch TV. It's a great idea to practice pronunciation daily but you need to be sure you are getting it right.
