You're ready to jump into tv shows, books, websites, news media, even audiolibros. Enjoying native materials makes it much easier to do some Spanish every day, even if you don't feel like studying. I keep an audiolibro in my car, so I cannot help but get some listening practice in every day.

Many people push native material to later in their studies (when they expect to feel more prepared to tackle them), but I believe native material can be really helpful from the very beginning if you know how to use it. It also makes the learning process more enjoyable because you are actually seeing what you are learning being used in a natural native context.

It's great to know you are enjoying your time with spanish!

Quick update....

Not listened to any more Harry Potter this week, afraid life reared it's ugly head and kept me rather busy, not the best week I've ever had!

However I did manage to get my better half to install LWT on my laptop and so I can now read Harry Potter in Spanish (and anything else I fancy).

I spent all day yesterday messing around with it, and although it's not the easiest piece of software I've ever used I think I've finally mastered the basics. I have added the first two chapters of Harry Potter and I am slowly working my way through them.

Words: 732
Known: 254

Seems Harry Potter may be a bit above my level as all my texts start at about 50-60% unknown, still gives me something to work on!

If anyone has any top tip for using/learning with LWT please send them my way...

I may have to change my progress bars shortly :D

Quick Friday update.......

Reading Harry Potter 1: Chapter 1 read this week - 2,280 words!
Listening Harry Potter 3: Zero
LWT 1000 words known: 667
Glossika GSR 2: Zero
Language Transfer: Zero
TV: At least 30 mins every evening

I have mainly been reading the first chapter of Harry Potter this week on LWT. Although it is above my level in terms of % of known words I am not finding it too difficult because I have listened to the audio book and read the English version very recently. Therefor I always have a reasonable idea of what going on, this is making it easier and less frustrating. However it is very slow, I have spent over 2 hours (somedays over 3 hours) reading on LWT each day this week and I have only read one Chapter

My stats are improving though, which is slowly making reading faster...

Words: Last week = 732. This week = 1832
Known: Last week = 254. This week = 667
Unknown %: Last week = 50-60%. This week =20-30%

I have to say that LWT really is a lovely system and I am looking forward to reading Chapter 2, hopefully a little less slowly :D
