So over the last 3 weeks I've been concentrating on two things.
Firstly, while keeping my みんなの日本語中級 vocab deck under control, I've been activating sentences, but not doing any other sentence reviews. I managed to activate 3000 sentences, which is about 100 per day. In fact at the beginning of the month I was managing more like 200 per day but by the end it had dropped to about 50 per day. That, I think, is mostly because the early ones involved vocabulary that I already knew well and the later ones started to throw up more new vocabulary and also more vocabulary that is normally written in kana but happened to be in kanji in some sentences.I still have just over 2,200 sentences to go to work through the whole of the 6,000 sentences from iKnow, so I think I'll keep going with the activations all through August. I have also been throwing in the occasional batch of sentences from DOIJG but I think I'll stop that for now and just concentrate on the iKnow sentences.
I did think a few weeks ago that I'd finished getting all the sentences from 日本語総まとめ N3 文法 activated and, where necessary, getting the translations checked. I've now verified that I've just got 7 sentences left to get checked and all the others have been activated. When I get the chance, I'll go through the same exercise with the 新完全マスター N3 文法 sentences, which are (I think) mostly activated and mostly checked.
My other main focus has been watching drama, with and without subtitles, and also going through various episodes more intensively. I've been using コールセンターの恋人 for this and I've found the process quite useful. However, I've not been able to locate any Japanese subtitles for this series, so I've had to resort to listening repeatedly to try and work out what is being said based onw hat I think I can hear, what the English subtitles claim and what I can glean from online dictionaries. That's quite a slow process. So once I finish with this series I'll go back to ドラゴン桜, for which I have Japanese subtitles, and this time I'll work through it more diligently.
Other than that, I've managed to get going again on a little grammar work. I'm going to finish off the exercises in 新完全マスター N3 文法 soon(ish) and then I'll make a start on the N2 books I have. I've found working through the N3 sentences certainly seems to have helped to cement some of the grammar slightly more firmly in my head, so I'm hoping that the same improvement will happen for the N2 stuff.
