Oh thanks, this going to go into the same category that "do penguins have knees" and "do duck have teeth" were in, the questions that pop into your head during a bout of insomnia. (By the way, the answer is yes to both.)

What makes it so difficult is that it might actually be both at the same time. In fact, sometimes it also seems more like a 4D problem to me :lol:

I share your opinion. I think that it's possible to keep about 12 languages at B2 if you have a normal job and don't work extra hours.
However before keeping them at that level you have to study them first and it's not possible to do it while working full-time. For me it does take about the same time to keep an easy and a difficult language alive. Of course the input you have to make first differs heavily.


I learned the basics of four or five before I'd finished high school, that is true.

high level for me means strong B2 and higher.
