I don't know if that's true or not, but this article talks about all the languages being spoken today in Queens, and my heritage Gottscheerisch is number 12.

I hadn't heard of Gottscheerisch so I searched and on wikipedia I found this translation. It looks very different than German, but when you read it, obvioulsy it's a German dialect:
