I think that you are the only person who can say which language would be a better choice for you. As several people have mentioned previously, learning a language takes a lot of time and hard work and it is easier to keep going when you become discouraged if you are learning the language that you really want to learn. My suggestion is to think about what aspects of each language you find most motivating. Do you want opportunities to practice the language face-to-face? In Ohio, as you know, you will have more opportunities to practice Spanish than French. If you like the idea of not picking the most practical language (at least if you stay in the midwest) or if you dream of speaking French on the streets of Paris before you turn 30, you should learn French. Just remember that you can't make a bad choice. Either language would be excellent AND you can always change your mind. Good luck with your decision.
