It gives you the context in the sentence. It feeds cards to you according to the frequency list ranking. It has the option of TTS. It exports to Anki.

In other words, it solves nearly all of the technical problems being discussed above.

To add to this, you can also have it create cloze deletion cards that also are exportable into Anki. I don't use it because that's not how I make my cards right now and because even in my L1, cloze deletion is the bane of my existence. Also because at the moment I don't read things via Readlang. That said Readlang flashcard export tool is pretty robust.

Google Readlang and you'll find it. It should be the first hit. There have also been discussions about it here and on the old forum.

But is there a possibility to add audio and pictures to cards created this way?

You can add audio and visual components to any Anki card within Anki. How to do so can be found within the manual (which is either on the first page of Anki's website of a click away).

Yes. You can use the built-in TTS within Readlang. If you don't like that, you can export your Readlang deck to Anki and add your own audio there.

Coud you share with us your Anki settings? I find it hard to set it properly for using Anki as an exposure tool only.

I just use the default settings and press "Good" every time. The only thing I do differently is to have 20-30 new cards per day which quickly builds up to ~150-200 to review daily, and I have a max review per day of 10,000. That should be enough exposure (this can get out of control if you're not doing it every day) In my Mandarin deck for example I see common characters like 我,你,好,说 again and again because they turn up every other sentence almost. So although I'm probably only about 1/4 way through my 10k deck, I've got those down pat. Plus others.
