Creating an Anki deck from Kindle's words

Postby astromule » Fri Apr 28, 2017 4:42 pm

I wanted to share something that I found yesterday: http://fluentcards.com
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Anki/comments/ ... e_lookups/

With Kindle Paperwhite you can create "inner" flashcards from the words that you have looked up. These words are stored inside a file called "vocab.db". "Fluentcards" allows you to export that vocab file and create an Anki deck with definitions, pictures, cloze...

I've just dropped the file several times and nothing happened, I saw only the confirmation sign when dropping the file.
Any clues? ;)

Have you tried another web browser? I'm using Firefox 48.0.2 After dropping the file, a screen with your books should appear.

(This might be a good time to mention my old SRS Collector, which is designed to make it easy to import Kindle (and other ereader) highlights as cards with text, and to add definitions and pictures. I'm not sure whether it still works, but if anybody is interested, I'd be happy to make the source available.)

You know that you can change the appearance of any anki cards using css? You can change fonts, backgrounds, anything you want.

I do everything on my phone and I don't even know what css is!

I just like things nice and streamline and simple cos I fit in learning around just when I have a few moments here and there

I love using kindle though so simple way to get great flash cards is something I find interesting

CSS is used to create style sheets. There are some nice ones on this Reddit post
