Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

I had a kind of cool thing happen in my language learning journey today. My wife and I went to the store to buy a new lamp for my desk. I checked the instructions to see what kind of bulbs the lamp takes. The first instructions I saw were in Spanish, so that's what I used. It never even occurred to ...

Re: Spanish Group

Right now I'm three episodes short of finishing the first season of Aqui no hay quien viva . I have not tried to quantify my listening comprehension, and it's hard to say how much more of the dialogue I get now compared to when I started. However, I don't worry too much about it, it's a delightful ...

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

Eh... for what it's worth... Don't do the Google translate thing. Force yourself to create grammatical sentences. Pay attention to grammatical gender. It will take time and effort, but that"s ok. It may sound strange coming from me, but consult a dictionary and a grammar. Estoy de acuerdo. Cua...

Re: Hank's Adventure in Spanish

I was hoping to get to test out my Spanish at work the other day. We got dispatched for a motor vehicle accident, and the comments from dispatch mentioned a "language barrier". My mind was racing trying to make sure I could communicate in Spanish all the things I would need to say to a per...

Re: Spanish Group

Are you supposed to be formal when meeting a child for the first time? If not, is there some kind of rule about what age you're supposed to start being formal? I like to hand out fire department stickers to kids when I'm on duty. If I were to ever run into a Spanish speaking child I would at least l...
