Re: Do you have any particular method to improve your learning capacity?

My learning capacity depends on motivation, and I usually get get some kind of motivation from talking with people or going for a long walk.

The only substance I take daily is nicotine, about enough to kill a horse.

Re: French Dictionary for Expressions? Recommendations?

Another vote for wordereference. You can choose between dictionaries to use on the site itself, so you can get examples from more than just one.

Re: Xenops Mostly Tackles French (and some other languages)

All Brits sound weird when they try to do American. :D I think that Brits sound better doing an American accent than Americans doing a British accent. I would love to find a course on how to do a British accent. To be specific, an Estuary or London accent. :) I would really like to sound like David...

I see what you mean by harsh. It's part of why I like it though. :D And if it makes you feel any better you're not the only one that mixes up the vos at times.

Good luck with your learning plans. (I wish I had your discipline ;) )

Hiya, I like reading your log (although I have to say that I don't always agree with your opinions ;) ). May I ask what elements of Iberian Spanish are difficult to you , as someone that is more used to Sout-American Spanish, appart from the vocabulary?

How are things with the Devanagari . Is there much literature available in the language that you find interesting to read? I am happy with old texts but not familiar with specifics re titles. Hiya Carmody! Devanagari is only the name of the script used to write in Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi as well a...

Re: Le groupe français 2016 - 2017 Les Voyageurs

I just do a web search on the series/movie title, and then click the video tab. This usually means YouTube. You have the option of auto-generated sub-titles, but I usually just assume those will be wrong, and don't use that. So far I've used mostly youtube when I've wanted to watch something, and I...

Re: Xenops Mostly Tackles French (and some other languages)

Don't be too disheartened - if you care about pronunciation, it will take time, but you'll get there in the end. Just look at the trouble Americans have doing a British accent, and vice versa - and that's in the same language! If you can get the hang of 'alien' French sounds, you're doing well. :) ...
